Here's how to build a low-budget gaming PC that doesn't skimp on performance. We'll cut through the complexities, providing the steps to help you create an affordable gaming PC that delivers an exceptional gaming experience on a budget.

Setting Your Budget
  • Begin by establishing a practical budget that suits your financial situation.
  • Utilize online tools like

to estimate costs for your chosen components.
Choose Components Wisely!
  • Prioritize critical components: CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage.
  • You can always upgrade the motherboard later.
  • Check the minimal requirements for the games you are interested in.
  • Look for second-hand components on eBay that offer high performance within your budget.
  • Don't buy expensive PC chassis or RGB lights. These are just visual aesthetics you can always upgrade later!
Ensuring Compatibility
  • I can't stress enough how important it is to research compatibility components before finalizing your choices.
  • Ensure that CPU and GPU power requirements match the capabilities of your power supply unit (PSU).
  • Websites like PCPartPicker can help identify and eliminate compatibility issues.
Balancing CPU and GPU Performance
  • Pair a balanced CPU and GPU for optimal gaming experiences.
  • Research benchmarks and user reviews to identify compatible CPU-GPU combinations within your budget range.
Efficient Cooling Solutions
  • For budget configurations, I'll suggest going with AIR-cooling solutions
  • Don't go for Noctua, you can look for some cheap and used-case fans online
Navigating the PSU Maze
  • Calculate power needs for all components, including CPU, GPU, RAM, storage, and peripherals!
  • Use tools like

    to determine correct PSU wattage.
Storage Strategy for Speed and Capacity
  • Opt for a dual-storage approach: SSD for fast boot times, HDD for extensive storage.
  • You can always add an HDD later on, prioritize at least 1TB SSD (

    )
  • Consider M.2 NVMe SSDs for faster loading times but the form factor isn't that important on a budget
Step-by-Step Assembly
  • Follow systematic assembly guides from YouTube and PC building websites.
  • Prevent static discharge damage with an anti-static wrist strap during assembly!
  • You can install something light like

BIOS, Drivers, and Updates
  • Update the motherboard BIOS to the latest version after assembly. (USE

  • Download essential GPU drivers, motherboard drivers, and system utilities for seamless performance.
Backing Up and Staying Grounded
  • Create backups before significant hardware or software changes.
  • Use an anti-static wrist strap to prevent static discharge damage.
Effective Troubleshooting Approach
  • Stay composed during challenges in the assembly process.
  • Seek guidance from online communities and forums for troubleshooting assistance.

Congrats on the guide. I just wanted to add that if you want to save even more money, consider repurposing parts from older computers you might have lying around. Power supplies, cases, and even RAM can sometimes be salvaged from older systems, helping you cut costs even further. Just make sure they're compatible with the new components you're getting.

Good guide, but I personally never build PCs with used parts. It might be cheaper, but risky in the long term. I'd pay more for PC reliability. Cooling matters, so don't ignore the case completely. Just my two bytes! ;)

Yep warranties are important especially on expensive GPU components. Other than that I think that if we are talking budget second hand parts on eBay are completely fine!

What's funny is I actually rewrote the whole guide he wrote , improving it way beyond what was written and making it better to show him how to create guides. In this case definitely no payment reward will be given for this post.
